Despite some confused visual elements, an excellent musical performance makes Seattle Opera's production well worth watching.

Seattle Opera do full justice to Dove and De Angelis's comic opera with a dark twist, filming it in the city's Museum of Flight.

Two charming operas featured splendid singing in a haze of choreography, staging and projections in a setting that had the feel of being live in a surround sound movie theater. 

Highly idiomatic and effective singing by Greer Grimsley, Denyce Graves and other cast members, coupled with inventive stagecraft wizardry, make the Minnesota Opera's first-ever Rheingold a memorable production.

Opera Parallele's production of Terence Blanchard's Champion: An Opera in Jazz features great performances but an uneven score and spotty blocking.
