A rare and compelling performance of Beethoven's string quintet was the centrepiece of another instalment in the Nash Ensemble's traversal of German Romantic composers.

An attractive concert of the unusual repertoire performed by the IMS Prussia Cove – two little known string quintets by Beethoven and Mendelssohnn and a 20th century string quartet by Martinů that is woefully neglected in the concert hall.
