REMA is the only representative network for early music in Europe and boasts a membership of 75 organizations in 20 European countries. Its aim is to act as a network for its members, encouraging the exchange of knowledge, information and cooperations in the field.
In addition to organizing regular conferences all over Europe, REMA initiated and coordinates the European Day of Early Music, which takes place annually on 21 March. Previous editions, for which hundreds of concerts have been organized in 30 countries, have been under the patronage of Jordi Savall, William Christie, René Jacobs, as well as UNESCO and European Commissioner for Culture Tibor Navracsics.
In 2015, the network launched the first REMA Early Music Awards, as well as its own webradio, www.remaradio.eu, dedicated to early music festivals and young ensembles.
