Louise Flind worked at English National Opera in the publicity department, for Clonter Opera spotting talented young singers, and in the Glyndebourne casting/auditions department. She also worked for the agency Music International, in the International Theatre in Vienna and was an observer on Gianni Schicchi and Il Tabarro at the Volksopera, Vienna. She then became a freelance journalist specialising in classical music. She had an agony aunt column in Opera Now and wrote for BBC Music Magazine, The Independent, The spectator, Classic FM magazine, The Times, Opera magazine and Musical Opinion.
