The Grammy award-winning Akropolis Reed Quintet is known for its groundbreaking mix of classical music, jazz and modern compositions, often centred around social issues. In 2026, it will pay tribute to the 250th anniversary of America in that year. As a melting pot of cultures, each work on the programme celebrates a different element of the colourful fabric of American identity.
The Akropolis Reed Quintet brings together the worlds of classical music and jazz in a performance that showcases the various elements that make up American identity. A real highlight is A Soulful Nexus by Derrick Skye, a fusion of Persian classical music and American electronic dance music.
