Philip Moore joins Simon Crawford-Phillips for his final BBC Radio 3 Lunchtime Concert, celebrating the 100th birthday of Hungarian pianist, György Kurtág.

The Music

Composer and pianist György Kurtág celebrates his 100th birthday in February 2026. To mark his centenary, Simon Crawford-Phillips and Philip Moore explore some of his 4-hand arrangements of works by Bach (made famous in performances by Kurtág and his wife, Márta) alongside music by Schubert.

The Performers

Simon Crawford-Phillips is known for his broad repertoire, to which he brings expressive sensitivity and technical brilliance. He has performed regularly with Philip Moore over recent decades, including for the world premiere of Anna Meredith’s Two Piano Concertoat the BBC Proms in 2009.
