In the brand new series 'The Best Wind Players of Our Own Soil', the Dutch Wind Ensemble gives the stage to the absolute top of the Dutch wind players. This time with none other than trumpet player and salsa star Maite Hontelé.

Born and raised in the Netherlands, Maite grew up in the rich tradition of Dutch brass culture. However, her heart was soon captured by the warm sounds of Latin American music, which led to a spectacular career in which she grew to be one of the biggest stars in the salsa world, loved throughout South America.

Together with the NBE, Maite takes the audience on a musical journey that effortlessly tacks between Dutch brass band and Cuban salsa.
