Eduard Lalo, with his Spanish ancestry, created a virtuoso violin concerto filled with rhythmic flamenco motifs.
Rimsky-Korsakov's Capriccio espangole is based on Spanish folk melodies and ends with a sparkling fandango asturiana.
The soloist is Clara-Jumi Kang, who plays a Stradivarius from 1702.
Stenhammar's Serenade was written in Florence and inspired by the hills of Tuscany.
The serenade became one of Stenhammar's most beloved orchestral works.
