Discover ambience and stillness, words and sound, light and dark, wild and calm… in this newly adapted version of Voice Electric. The show explores the vivid colours of the amplified human voice as it oscillates between states of being.

Mezzo-soprano, Lotte sings works for solo amplified voice with and without electronics, from groundbreaking 20th Century works by Scelsi, Feldman, and Schwitters, to 21st Century pieces that draw on medieval plainchant, experimental electronica and techno.

Receiving its highly-charged debut at the Aldeburgh Festival in 2022 and presented around the UK including Norfolk and Norwich Festival and Oxford Song, Voice Electric is in part a tribute to Lotte’s lifelong fascination with electronic music, as well as a reflection and celebration of the medium of solo voice and fixed electronic audio in modern composition.

Alongside works by Stuart MacRae, Erin Gee, Enno Poppe and Caroline Shaw, this latest edition of the programme, curated especially for its London debut at Kings Place, features a world premiere from Arthur Keegan and very recent works by Sara Glojnarić, Luke Abbott and Michael Finnissy. Further world premieres to be announced!

This event will last approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes, with no interval.
