RCM Visiting Professor of Horn, Stefan Dohr, is an internationally celebrated soloist, chamber musician and has been Principal Horn of the Berliner Philharmoniker since 1993.
Stefan has collaborated with leading conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Claudio Abbado, and Daniel Barenboim, and regularly performs internationally. He is a champion of contemporary music: major composers such as Toshio Hosokawa and Jörg Widmann have written works for him, and he premiered Abrahamsen’s Horn Concerto with the Berlin Philharmonic. As an educator, he holds professorships at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin.
In this enlightening masterclass, brass musicians from the RCM learn valuable skills and techniques from this icon of horn playing.
