Powerful and expressive performances characterise the collaboration between Paavo Järvi and his Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich. They have lost their hearts to Mahler: the orchestra and conductor are working on a symphonic cycle on CD. And so tonight, they are bringing the Sixth to the concert hall. Fate lurks throughout this symphony, and for those who want to see the man with the hammer in action live, this work is an absolute must.
