In this behind‑the‑scenes conversation, Ulrich Gerhartz (Steinway & Sons) and pianist Kathryn Stott explore the relationship between pianist and instrument, and how a concert grand is shaped for performance.
Gerhartz is Director of Concert & Artist Services at Steinway & Sons, a role he has held since starting his career at the Steinway factory in Hamburg in 1986. Based in London, he works closely with leading pianists and major venues, preparing and maintaining concert grands for performance, and is widely regarded as one of the most influential piano technicians working today.
This event will last for approximately 60 minutes with no interval.
