Petter and Lotta live with Aunt Green, Aunt Brown and Aunt Gredelin, and will be celebrating Christmas for the very first time. The children want to sleep under the Christmas tree, and on Christmas Eve an enchanted world appears filled with magical goings-on.
The Nutcracker, choreographed by Pär Isberg, is one of the Royal Swedish Opera’s greatest ballet successes. The plot has been updated with Elsa Beskow’s fairytale characters, and Tchaikovsky’s dance fantasy has become a Christmas tradition for audiences of all ages. This year’s performance will be staged at Cirkus, with the Royal Swedish Ballet and recorded music performed by the Royal Swedish Orchestra under the direction of Case Scaglione.
