Waed Bouhassoun is a Syrian oud virtuoso, singer and ethnomusicologist. None other than early music pioneer Jordi Savall took her under his wing. Today, she is accompanied by the Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra. Her mastery of the oud and beautiful voice are showcased in a programme with music from all corners of the globe, from Granada to Baghdad.

This concert is part of the sixth Ud Festival. This biennial festival is entirely dedicated to the oud, the oldest Arabic string instrument, which serves as a musical bridge between the East and the West. Having travelled from Baghdad to Andalusia in the eight century, the oud sparked a musical revolution that reshaped Western music
