| Giovanni Sollima | Cello |
Fiery solo works, Mediterranean melodies, new compositions, glowing improvisations, and a touch of metal. Italian composer-cellist Giovanni Sollima makes his cello sing, rage and dance, backed by the sharp style and spontaneity of Holland Baroque. A concert like an encounter between sun and sea, between the 17th century and the present – between tradition and the boundless power of imagination.
Giovanni Sollima, a regular feature at the Cello Biennale, is a true cello virtuoso and an extraordinary composer. H is also a deep connoisseur of the old Italian cello tradition. His audience is remarkably diverse, drawing everyone from fans of classical music to young metalheads – Sollima blows them all away playing his 1679 Francesco Ruggieri.
Tickets: € 12,50 – € 43,00
