Connoisseurs of fine chamber music playing make a beeline to Wigmore Hall for its annual presentation of young talent supported by the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA). This season’s showcase trains the spotlight on three thrilling ensembles. Alfred Brendel described The Astatine Trio, formed in 2021, as being ‘among the truly outstanding chamber music groups’, a verdict reinforced when it became the first UK-based ensemble to win top prizes at the Franz Schubert and Modern Music Competition in Graz.
