Festival Artistic Director Anthony Friend joins the Sacconi Quartet for Brahms’ deeply expressive Clarinet Quintet. Friend, praised for the ‘vision and intensity’ of his playing (The Observer), brings lyricism and flair to this late masterpiece. The renowned Sacconi Quartet, celebrated for their communicative style and technical brilliance, also perform Ravel’s vibrant String Quartet and the world premiere of Richard Blackford’s Variations on a Ukrainian Folksong. A stirring programme of rich textures, emotional depth and chamber music at its finest.
