Works by Mugison (b. 1976) |
Mugison | Vocals |
Bjarni Frímann Bjarnason | Conductor |
Iceland Symphony Orchestra |
Mugison has been one of the most significant pillars in Icelandic music, having given us many songs that have since become part of the country's heart. Now, for the first time, he takes the stage with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra for a complete reinterpretation of his musical career and all it has given us: the soundscape, the emotions, the depth, and the unexpected turns.
You won't want to miss this symphonic interpretation of Mugison's music, as several of the country's leading arrangers have rearranged his works just for this unique occasion. It will probably never be repeated! How cool is that?!
The Iceland Symphony Orchestra (Sinfó) will be fully staffed with around 70 instrumentalists on stage in Eldborg (Harpa), with Mugison himself at the center.
The event is part of Iceland Airwaves 2025 as a special Partner Event. Iceland Airwaves ticket holders will receive priority and discounts; however, the concert is open to everyone who obtains a ticket.
With the concert, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra continues its collaboration with the Iceland Airwaves music festival. Previously, Sinfo has participated in Iceland Airwaves, performing concerts with John Grant, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Emilíana Torrini, Ólafur Arnalds, and most recently, Ásgeir Trausti.
