Steve Reich’s Music for Mallet Instruments, Voices and Organ is one of those rare works that feels both utterly precise and completely dreamlike. Mallet instruments pulse with intricate patterns, the organ sustains glowing harmonies, and voices melt into the texture until you can’t tell human from instrument.
The result is a soundscape that shimmers, expands, and seems to suspend time itself.
