Registration procedure

Each Competitor must apply for the admission to the Competition via the online platform www.muvac.com no later than May 15, 2025. Applications received after the deadline will not be taken into consideration and applications for admission submitted in any other way will not be accepted.

Competition process

Preliminary Selection (by 15 June 2025)

A commission will select twelve competitors, who will be notified by 15 June 2025. Selected participants must confirm their participation by 20 June 2025.

Competition Phases

After the preliminary Selection, the twelve admitted Competitors must present themselves at the Competition Secretariat at the headquarters of the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini, CPM Toscanini, viale Barilla 27/a, inside the Parco della Musica of Parma ex Parco Eridania, on 30 August 2025 at the time established by the admission notifications, showing a valid identity document.

The Competition will be divided into three Stages, which will take place in Parma according to the following calendar.

First Step - 12 competitors - from 31 August to 2 September 2025

31 August: Eliminatory stage with orchestra - 4 competitors
1 September: Eliminatory stage with orchestra - 4 competitors
2 September: Eliminatory stage with orchestra - 4 competitors

Second Step - 6 competitors – from 3 - 4 September 2025

3 September: Public rehearsals with orchestra - 3 competitors
4 September: Public rehearsals with orchestra - 3 competitors

Final Step - 3 competitors – 5, 6 and 7 September 2025

5 September: Finalists’ rehearsals with orchestra – competitor 1
6 September: Finalists’ rehearsals with orchestra– competitors 2 and 3
7 September: Finals - Concert with orchestra - competitors 1, 2 and 3
Prizes

The Competition will award the following prizes:

First Prize (Arturo Toscanini Prize) - € 20.000 and diploma of merit, in addition to conducting a symphonic concert within the program of the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini.

Second Prize - € 10.000 and diploma of merit.

Third prize - € 5.000 and diploma of merit.

Special prizes

Special Orchestra Award - € 2.000 and diploma of merit, awarded by the Professors of the

Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini

Special Audience Award “Emanuela di Castelbarco” - €1.000 and diploma of merit.

Reimbursement of expenses

Each Competitor will be entitled to a prepaid flight (economy class) to reach the Italian airport closest to Parma. The accommodation with breakfast included will be paid by the organisation, which will also provide vouchers of 15.00 euros per meal to facilitate the food expenses of the competitors.

Following the competition

The second and final stages of the competition are open to the public. Audiences are invited to follow the competition live in Parma.
