In the first half of the double bill, Barokksolistene and Mamelukk come together for an exuberant mix of musical twists and turns and dance virtuosity.
Barokksolistene was founded by Norwegian violinist Bjarte Eike in 2005, and is now recognised as one of the world’s most dynamic and exciting early music groups, known for mixing traditional and classical music with improvisation, dance and storytelling.
All-female Norwegian contemporary dance company Mamelukk have brought their contemporary take on traditional dance to several Barokksolistene projects.
For the second part, we move into the Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer for a Nordic Ceilidh – join in the dancing to the strains of Nordic and Celtic folk music, served with anecdotes and stories.
The Dancers’ Brew is choreographed by Silje Onstad Hålien and co-produced with Musikk i Innlandet and Riksscenen, Oslo.
Tickets: from £24
