Concert with Juan Sancho: Handel's Seven Deadly Sins

This listing is in the past
Leopoldina: Festsaal380 Gästen Platz, Halle, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany
Dates/times in Berlin time zone
Festival: Händel Festival Halle

This concert is devoted to some of the most admirable compositions that Handel wrote for negative characters who have fallen prey to one of the seven deadly sins: pride, greed, envy, wrath, lust, gluttony and sloth can be found, for example, in the characters in “Tamerlano”, “Ariodante”, “Lotario”, “Rodelinda”, “Semele” and “Theodora”. These characters with their psychologically sombre sides take centre stage in the programme, interpreted by the internationally sought-after Spanish tenor Juan Sancho, who has performed with numerous renowned Baroque orchestras, such as Les Arts Florissants and Les Musiciens du Louvre.
