Ranging from folk-inflected idioms to sweeping Romantic drama, this program, created by former Juilliard Quartet violinist Joe Lin, traces a vivid arc through the chamber traditions of Central Europe. The afternoon opens with a rare performance of a pair of works by Kodály, reflecting the composer’s deep engagement with Hungarian folk music and his distinctive musical voice. The second half features Dvořák’s profoundly emotional, symphonically scaled Piano Trio in F Minor, composed during a time of deep personal grief and artistic conflict following his mother’s death.
