Following his triumphant debut two seasons ago, András Schiff returns to the Orchestra.

In the first half of this concert, he directs two of Mendelssohn's best-loved pieces, both inspired by the composer's travels around Scotland. Holyrood Palace was the inspiration behind the solemn opening bars of the Scottish Symphony.

In the second half, András takes to the keyboard to perform Schumann's eloquent Piano Concerto.
