Celebrated cellist Julian Lloyd Webber launches a day of live performances honouring the music of Malcolm Arnold at Cripps Hall and St Matthew’s Church in the composer’s hometown of Northampton. The Malcolm Arnold Festival, a community-focused annual celebration, will showcase his sparkling chamber, brass and orchestral music performed by guest ensembles including the Northampton Symphony Orchestras and Towcester Studio Band.
In this concert, highlights include a World Premiere performance of Malcolm Arnold’s unfinished Violin Concerto, orchestrated from the composer’s detailed sketches by Jonathan Whiting and performed by rising star Elif Cansever, who’s playing was so rapturously received at last year’s festival.
Enjoy concerts throughout the day with an affordable Day Ticket, or free admission for students and those under the age of 18. The evening’s Gala Concert is priced separately. Tickets are available on the website or on the door.
Find details of all the day’s events on the website and on Bachtrack.
