"But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?" There’s a lot more to Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet than the theme tune to The Apprentice, and no composer has ever got closer to capturing the raw emotion of Shakespeare’s great love story. Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla begins with a personal favourite – the music of Weinberg – and joins the great Kirill Gerstein in another great musical love story: Robert Schumann’s gloriously romantic Piano Concerto.
