Steven Osborne has risen rapidly to become one of Britain’s best-loved pianists. He is acclaimed for his interpretations of music ranging from Beethoven to Tippett and beyond.

His recital is typically diverse, opening with some of Schubert’s song-like impromptus before moving on to a selection of Debussy pieces that find the composer conjuring up magical images and narratives through a shimmering soundworld of pianistic invention.

The second half is devoted to a selection of Rachmaninov’s Etudes tableaux, where the most demanding technical tasks are presented in the form of expressive character pieces.

‘Osborne’s attack is ferocious and fearless... This is the best it gets.’ (The Observer)
