The works of Sven Grünberg: short forms, music from the collections “Hingus” I–II, the television series “Wikman’s Boys”, the feature film “Dead Mountaineer’s Hotel”, and more.

When we close our eyes and look into our minds, we may see, hear, or otherwise perceive worlds—existing or non-existent. Worlds that might have any number of qualities, but where we still remain—as creators, interpreters, or observers, leaving our own traces in the lock of existence. Views, desires, circumstances, and much more create our story step by step—our story in time, leaving marks that can no longer be corrected once we have departed. Marks that remain with us for eternity.

– Sven Grünberg

While this concert marks a milestone birthday for the composer, its true significance lies in the opportunity to look back at a path that began with the now-cult ensemble Mess and moved through electronic and film music toward large acoustic ensembles. It is both a retrospective and a step forward, as the programme naturally includes new compositions. “Story” (Lugu) was the very first piece Sven Grünberg wrote, at the age of fifteen.
