This is a pretty indulgent concert – think a proper roast followed by sticky toffee pudding. But the starter is fresh and heathy, so it’s all good. That starter is a fusion of folk energy and wistfulness, with a bit of classical elegance, while the main course is Mendelssohn’s almost relentlessly emotional Violin Concerto, a piece that’s absolutely packed with earworms that’ll get lodged in your head for days. To finish we have Tchaikovsky’s Serenade – lush, indulgent and heartfelt.
Tickets – £5.00 to £53.00
