The Swingle Singers |
For five decades, the unmistakable sound of ‘Swingle singing’ has defined the art form: virtuosic vocal agility and blend demonstrated by their signature close-microphone technique, combined with high-level entertainment that has thrilled audiences around the globe. The Swingle Singers are an international a cappella phenomenon. Since the release of their ground-breaking debut album Jazz Sébastien Bach in 1963, this a cappella group has performed in every continent and on the world’s most famous stages, as well as releasing over 50 recordings and winning five Grammy Awards.
The Swingles have been pushing the boundaries of what is possible to achieve with the human voice for the past 50 years – and the current line up is no different. Made up of young and vibrant singers trained in jazz, pop, choral and beatbox, the Swingles reinvent classic music, from Debussy to Mumford and Sons, Bach to Elbow, and for the first time in many years, original material.
