No One Can Hold Us Back

For the evening performance "No One Can Hold Us Back" we have invited the renowned Irish choreographer Marguerite Donlon, who served as the ballet director of Saarländisches Staatstheater for 12 years; Anne Jung from Germany, the 2021 Dysart Prize winner for promising choreographers; and Katarzyna Kozielska, a Polish artist who has been successfully creating choreographies for prominent ballet stages worldwide for over a decade.

Donlon will present her choreography "To the Moon and Back," inspired by the heroines of Helmut Newton's photographs—tall, slender, and confident. The other two choreographers will create new works specifically for the Poznań Opera Ballet.

"No One Can Hold Us Back" offers a vision of femininity encompassing strength and freedom, courage and emotion, subtlety and dynamism. The title, a paraphrase of a quote from a poem by Zuzanna Ginczanka (1917–1944), intuitively unites the diverse choreographic creations of Donlon, Jung, and Kozielska, inspiring audiences to explore the broadest possible contexts.
