This all-day piano concert features music by fifteen composers, including many premieres, in three parts: Universe, Mankind and Transfiguration. Composers include Michael Finnissy, Helen Grime, Brian Inglis, Lisa Illean, Matthew Lee Knowles and Scriabin. The day closes with world premieres of Sorabji's Visuddha and Lawrence Ball's Piano Suite 19. Abel is acclaimed for sophisticated sound and stupendous virtuosity, and is devoted to large, complex and rarely heard works. Come for one part or stay all day. Part of the twelfth Planet Tree Music Festival. Also streamed live online.
