We are thrilled to welcome Nicolas to Planet Tree Festival no.12 for an extended-duration recital that gathers some of the most quietly radical music being written today.
Nicolas has built an international reputation on marathon performances of astonishing stamina and tenderness, and on a lifelong commitment to championing living composers — playing their music not as a curiosity but as the central repertoire it deserves to be.
The programme moves through Philip Glass and Terry Riley, the two figures who taught a generation that repetition could be a form of devotion, and sets them alongside Lawrence Ball, Keith Barnard, Jean Catoire, Melaine Dalibert, Denis Levaillant, Michael Vincent Waller and Jürg Frey — composers working in slow time, luminous harmony and patient unfolding.
