Wigmore Hall continues to mark the anniversary of Britten’s passing (December 1976) and his enduring legacy with a celebration of one of Britain’s greatest creative artists. Two of Britten’s finest song cycles take centre stage: the Hardy settings of Winter Words and the Burns-inspired A Birthday Hansel. Framed by songs from Lennox Berkeley and music by Nadia and Lili Boulanger, this programme explores a rich network of musical connections.
