Created by Mechatok in collaboration with Armature Globale, Fruits begins as an investigation into the regimes of intellectual property, copyright and the material infrastructures that govern contemporary music production. The performance takes these conditions as its compositional principle: the number of microphones available on the day of the concert, determined by the contingencies of production, becomes an integral part of the work. Resource scarcity, economic constraints and the elasticity of production models no longer constitute the context of the performance, but become its very material. Rather than confronting the ghosts of the music industry, Fruits critically traverses its infrastructures, making their underlying mechanisms visible.

Among the leading figures of Belo Horizonte's baile funk scene, Anderson do Paraíso is a DJ and producer who has played a defining role in the evolution of the genre's darker, more downtempo edge. His sonic practice brings together Brazilian funk rhythms, electronics, robotic sounds, trap-inspired hi-hats and references to classical music, shaping a distinctive musical language. While baile funk is renowned for its chaotic, high-energy drive, Anderson do Paraíso offers a radically minimal reinterpretation of the genre. Reducing sonic material to its essentials and making silence a compositional element, he creates a constant cinematic tension. Music that continues to suggest new ways of inhabiting the dancefloor, continually pushing its boundaries.
