Artist-in-residence Bartholomew LaFollette is joined by Artistic Director Simon Callaghan, and leading string players Coco Tomita and Jenny Lewisohn to open the Sunday Concerts Autumn Season. Boulanger’s wartime miniatures open an evening that moves from intimate to expansive: Robert Kahn’s rarely-heard cello pieces sit alongside two pillars of Romantic chamber music. Dvořák’s turbulent F minor Trio and Schumann’s beloved Piano Quartet showcase the easy rapport of musicians who relish playing together.
