Together with the Italian ensemble Il Pomo d’Oro, the outstanding singer Ann Hallenberg celebrates the Carnival of Venice. Famous to this day, the lagoon city attracted ‘pilgrims’ from the rest of Europe, come to join in the exuberant celebrations, even in the eighteenth century. G. F. Handel too came to revel in the atmosphere in 1707 and was received with storms of applause by the Italians and the European visitors to Venice. The outstanding Swedish mezzo-soprano Ann Hallenberg, whose distinctions include an ECHO Klassik award and the International Opera Award, is accompanied with congenial, Italian wit by the Il Pomo d’Oro orchestra, known for its energetic playing style. A wild gala concert awaits us which is certain to arouse an equally wild response from the audience.
