Arcadi Volodos | Klavier |
Our final piano recital this autumn places the genius of Arcadi Volodos in the Romantic tradition of Schubert and Brahms.
If certain pieces of music are better than they can ever be played, Schubert’s huge, visionary Sonata D 960 surely falls into that category. Arcadi Volodos has spent his career immersed in the Romantic tradition; his interpretation of Schubert’s final sonata will be profoundly worth hearing.
‘He often produces playing of such rapt quietness as to make the world stand still’ said The Guardian of Volodos’ October 2014 London recital. It’s hard to imagine a better quality to bring to late Schubert, but with Volodos’ untrammelled emotional response and command of musical architecture, his readings of late Brahms should add up to a memorable evening.
