Adrian Danchig-Waring bids farewell to New York City Ballet on his own terms

Von Carla Escoda, 18. Oktober 2026

A stirring but not overly sentimental program curated by Adrian Danchig-Waring for his farewell performance included a striking new work by Pam Tanowitz, two towering Balanchine works and a Lar Lubovitch duet.

Savoring the glories of a timeless all-Balanchine program with NYCB

Von Carla Escoda, 17. September 2025

NYCB's triple bill that harks back to the 1950s proves a love letter to an America that never was.

Pleasant but bland New York City Ballet fall season opener

Von Ivy Lin, 16. September 2025

A slightly under par opening night at New York City Ballet but nevertheless, some strong individual performances.

New York City Ballet: Midsummer comes early, uneven yet thrilling

Von Carla Escoda, 27. Mai 2025

Balanchine's much-loved yet maddeningly disjointed A Midsummer Night's Dream returns to New York City Ballet. Some glorious performances on opening night, some uneven. But the night belonged to the bugs.

New York City Ballet: Balanchine's Americana

Von Ivy Lin, 26. September 2023

An evening of George Balanchine’s joyous, kitschy send-ups, with clever parodies of Petipa ballets.

Dreamy Midsummer ends NYCB's spring season

Von Ivy Lin, 31. Mai 2019

Yet the audience loved it, just as they love every performance of A Midsummer's Night DreamI've ever attended. This ballet is a tribute to Shakespeare, a tribute to love, a tribute to dance. One walks out feeling as if one's "soul is in the sky."
