Performer: Attacca Quartet

"Carta Blanca" brings John Adams and the Attacca Quartet to Madrid. John's Book of Alleged Dances and String Quartet are played, alongside Beethoven's String Quartet in F major, Op.18 no.1.

(Le) Poisson Rouge is always an exciting venue for classical music, but to have John Adams in the house Tuesday night was a real treat. The Attacca Quartet, comprised of violinists Amy Schroeder and Keiko Tokunaga, violist Luke Fleming and cellist Andrew Yee, began the concert with absolutely no pretenses.

Composer and cellist Andrew Yee talks about her landmark choral and orchestral work Trans Requiem, written explicitly for transgender singers, and performing with Attacca Quartet, Caroline Shaw and inti figgis-vizueta.
