Das Opernstudio der Bayerischen Staatsoper lieferte  im Münchner Cuvilliés-Theater eine bis zur letzten Minute packende Neuinszenierung von Gian Carlo Menottis Dreiakter.

Guildhall School of Music and Drama tackles Gian Carlo Menotti's rarity, a tale of stateless and paperless 'citizens of nowhere' seeking refuge amid Kafkaesque bureaucracy. 

The Secret Consul starts with a magic trick. Christopher Whitelock as Nika Magadoff, a Magician, selects one of the audience and performs a disappearing trick with their ring. It is here, however, that fantasy ends and cold hard realism begins.
