Reminding us of the timeless relevance of myth, Joe Hill-Gibbons’s Scottish Opera production of Greek moves to Hannover with a few contemporary twists.

Ingo Kerkhof’s specious contemporary staging was only redeemed by a gruesome scalp and some marvellous playing in the pit.   

Matthias Davids’ impressive production needed the dynamism of Dudamel to do justice to Bernstein’s marvellous music.
