When the Dover Quartet will arrive in Hong Kong on the heels of their exciting 2018, they will be primed to help celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Beare’s Premiere Music Festival. Launched in 2009 and formerly called the Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival, this international event brings world-class musicians to Hong Kong to make classical music accessible to all.

January 16th - 22nd, 2019

The Festival showcases world class musicians performing diverse repertoire in the city’s major concert halls and its smaller boutique venues, alongside a range of outreach programmes.  This is truly the art form at the highest international standards.

Since its launch in 2009, the festival has quickly become a cultural landmark. Through dynamic, accessible performances of world class quality and extensive outreach and education activities, the festival challenges audience’s perception of what chamber music is -- by making innovative programming choices beyond the standard repertoire, by including non-traditional instruments (e.g. harp, percussion, voice), by holding concerts in non-traditional venues (e.g. museums) and by bringing in performers of the highest international quality together with local musicians. Past guests have included the Emerson Quartet, Lynn Harrell, Ning Feng, Gary Hoffman, Wu Han and the Jerusalem Quartet.

The Beare's Premier Music Festival is organized by Premiere Performances of Hong Kong, a registered charity that brings the best classical musicians in the world to Hong Kong for performances and outreach, enhancing the arts and cultural life of Hong Kong and making classical music accessible to all.
