Hong Kong International Airport. Taxi to city centre is around GBP40, and the Airport Express Train is

about GBP11, about 23 mins to Hong Kong Island.

Hong Kong is one of the most exciting cities in the world – and in addition to the stunning urban landscape and great shopping, there is also something for nature lovers including great hiking and beautiful beaches. A plethora of new arts venues have come on stream in the last year, including Tai Kwun Centre of Heritage & Art (former Victoria Prison complex), and the Xiqu Centre for Chinese Opera and Freespace at the West Kowloon Cultural District. The Hong Kong Museum of Art will be reopening in December 2019 after a multiyear renovation project.

What type of programmes do you have?

We bring a diverse range of highly acclaimed international soloists to perform in different instrument combinations a specially designed program. This year’s Festival includes music from Baroque (Brandenburg Concertos, Goldberg Variations), Classical (Mozart, Beethoven), Romantic (Schumann, Brahms), Contemporary (Bright Sheng, Tan Dun).

What are the venues like?

Concerts are held in large concert hall of 1000 seats (Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall), and a small intimate venue of 190 seats (JC Cube, Tai Kwun). Both are on Hong Kong Island.

What’s the weather like?

January in Hong Kong has beautiful weather – probably around 15 degrees Celsius.

Food & Drink

Hong Kong is one of the great culinary capitals of the world – there are restaurants (both Chinese and Western) close by to both concert halls.

Under the auspices of Cho-Liang Lin (Artistic Director), the music-making at the Beare’s Premiere Music Festival is at the same world class level as the most highly regarded chamber music festivals in the world. But the festival takes place in one of the most exciting and vibrant cities in the world, Hong Kong.
