Festival: Seattle Chamber Music Society Summer Festival

Seattle Chamber Music Society Summer Festival

July 6 – August 1, 2020

Under Artistic Director and violinist James Ehnes, Seattle Chamber Music Society (SCMS) presents a Winter Festival in January and Summer Festival in July at the Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall at Benaroya Hall. Each performance brings together the world’s finest musicians to create unique ensembles that play the greatest masterpieces of chamber music. Performances also feature a free pre-recital with one or two musicians in repertoire of their own choosing with informal commentary. SCMS’s Commissioning Club commissions a new chamber music work each year which is performed during our summer festival the following year.

In addition to its high quality performances, SCMS offers community engagement programs for music lovers of all ages that help the audience deepen their appreciation and understanding of chamber music. These programs bring audiences in close contact with musicians and their music through informal, accessible and enjoyable formats.

All SCMS performances take place in the beautiful Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall at Benaroya Hall located in the heart of downtown Seattle. The recital hall has received a number of accolades as one of the premiere venues for chamber music in the United States.
