Biography

TBC

Experience 15 days of world-class classical music set in the heart of the historic Georgian wine country.

Where is it?

The Tsinandali Festival is set in Georgia's famous winemaking province of Kakheti, on the beautiful, historic Tsinandali Estate.

How to get there

The closest airports to Tsinandali are Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi. From there Tsinandali can be reached by car or bus. The journey between Tbilisi Airport and Tsinandali lasts 1 hour 45 minutes; Kutaisi Airport is 327 km away and the journey to Tsinandali lasts 5 hours 30 minutes; getting to Tsinandali from Batumi Airport takes approximately 8 hours 30 minutes for a 470 km journey.

Local accommodation

There are a number of hotels situated on and around the Tsinandali Estate, perfect for festival attendees. We recommend the Tsinandali Estate Radisson Collection Hotel, situated on the estate itself. The Schuchmann Wines is only 5 km away from Tsinandali. Other accommodations within a 50 km distance include Hotel Svaneti, Lopota, Kvareli Eden and Kvareli Lake Resort, Chateau Mere and Hotel Erekle.

What can tourists visit nearby?

The Tsinandali Estate is the cradle of classical winemaking in Georgia, as it was here that Georgian wine was first bottled. Festival attendees can take tours of this historic vineyard.

What type of programmes are scheduled?

The Tsinandali Festival 2019 showcases existing and emerging talent from across the globe, including its resident orchestras - the Pan-Caucasian Youth Orchestra (PCYO) and the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra (VFCO) - and a host of international musicians who will perform together in differing combinations as well as give masterclasses. The programme itself offers a plethora of beautiful works from a range of classical music genres.

What are the venues like?

Performances will take place in some of the most exquisite and acoustically sound locations across the estate’s grounds; Amphitheatre, Chamber Concert hall, Museum, Garden.

Dress code

The weather in Tsinandali around September time is typically between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius, so we suggest wearing clothes that will make our audiences comfortable, but there is no specific dress code for the festival.

Food & Drink

The on-site Radisson Hotel offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is also a beautiful vineyard on the estate.
