The theme of Polish music running subtly throughout this year’s BBC Proms is mostly evident through late 19th- and 20th-century repertoire: Szymanowski, Tchaikovsky’s “Polish” Symphony, lots of Lutosławski. Perhaps oddly, Chopin hasn’t featured at all.
