Jamiel Devernay-Laurence’s Ballet Nights is celebrating its third birthday. Initially a more intimate affair at The Lanterns Studio Theatre, Ballet Nights has grown into a regular feature on the dance calendar.

Ballet Nights is more than an evening of party pieces: it showcases emerging talent alongside older favourites and, in the case of this first Scottish outing, has an eye to local tradition.

An event that will be long-remembered for the importance of the occasion, if not for its content.

A random assortment of disassociated ballets performed with variable success - from the sublime to the nondescript.

A pleasing finale to a remarkable nationwide celebration of a great British choreographer.

A fine start to this unique collaboration between the five major ballet companies in the UK to mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of the passing of one of Britain's greatest choreographers

Birmingham Royal Ballet's Three of a Kind is an evening of atypical works including Card Games By John Cranko, George Balanchine's Slaughter on Tenth Avenue and Kenneth MacMillan's Elite Syncopations. At Birmingham Hippodrome.
