Surviving the present, crafting the future: La Scala's Dominique Meyer

The Japanese mezzo soprano is returning to the New National Theatre, Tokyo for her role debut in Massenet’s Werther. We talk about her love for Rossini, and expansions into later Romantic opera.

At the invitation of the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation, the Belgrade Philharmonic will perform two concerts at the National Center of Performing Arts under Mehta’s baton.

With an initial contract set from 2026 until 2030 – when the conductor will be 77 – the appointment represents the culmination of a relationship lasting more than three decades.
