With religious themes and the rich regional colours of southern Italy, this double billing of two famous verismo operas portraying the tragedy of love and jealousy is performed here for the first time in 13 years.
Cavalleria Rusticana, famous for its beautiful intermezzo, and Pagliacci, known for the aria "Vesti la giubba". Directed by Gilbert Deflo, who delivers richly psychological and sophisticated productions, and conducted by Kazushi Ono, the cast features renowned artists such as Chiara Mogini, Luciano Ganci (Cavalleria Rusticana), Roberto Aronica, Eri Nakamura and Massimo Cavalletti (Pagliacci).
