Brought to light in the archives of the Théâtre du Palais-Royal, this is the original version of La Vie parisienne, as it was first conceived by Offenbach and his librettists, before they were obliged to revise the work because of the vocal limitations of the artists chosen for the first performance. Acclaimed on stage for the past four years, this production, directed by Christian Lacroix, now comes to Versailles.
